ABSTRACT: The role of early childhood education in fostering religious tolerance is crucial for promoting social harmony from a young age. This study aimed to explore how early childhood education programs instill values of religious tolerance in children. The objectives were to (1) assess children's understanding of diverse religious beliefs, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of inclusive activities in the curriculum, and (3) examine changes in children's attitudes towards peers of different religions. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from participants. A purposive sample of 120 children aged 4-6 years, engaged in inclusive education programs, was selected from an early childhood education center in Plateau State. Findings indicated significant improvements in children's understanding of diverse religious beliefs, the effectiveness of inclusive activities, and positive changes in attitudes towards peers of different religions. The study recommended incorporating religious tolerance education into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to promote inclusivity and respect for diversity.
